Christina Batista is a chef, restaurateur, food writer and TV presenter from New South Wales. The mum-of-two was a contestant on the fifth series of MasterChef Australia. She was the first contestant eliminated from MasterChef’s finals week, leaving Rishi Desai, Lynton Tapp, Samira El Khafir and Emma Dean to battle it out for Top 3 spot. The series was won by Emma Dean.

The former MasterChef contestant runs the YouTube cooking channel, “Cooking with Christina Batista”. She is also a Reporter Hora dos Portugueses for RTP in Sydney, Australia, according to her Linkedin profile.

When she’s not spending time with her children she is either watching cooking shows or cooking. The thing the chef loves most about cooking is “how much it feeds my soul. Cooking for loved ones is my way of expressing my love for them. I am also a huge believer in every problem can be solved over an amazing meal (and a glass of wine),” she told Ciao! Magazine.

During her time on MasterChef Australia 2013, Christina’s ultimate dream was to open up a funky cafe that plays on her love of 1950s fashion and style.

“I would love to move to London and open up a little cafe there with Kate, Damian and Anabelle. I want to be able to give other mothers opportunities to interact with other people, and I would eventually love to run cooking classes from the cafe at night and spread my love of food.”
