Onyeka Nweze is a governance professional and chartered Company Secretary. She is one of the 18 contestants on The Apprentice 2024.

Onyeka has industry experience in the legal, engineering, insurance and financial services sectors but comes from a legal background in law after obtaining her LLB from the University of Essex and then went on to achieve her MSc in Corporate Governance from London South Bank University. She also earned a Postgraduate Qualifying Programme at The Chartered Governance Institute UK & Ireland.

Onyeka is currently the Group Company Secretary for Stronghold Global Finance, according to her LinkedIn profile. She had stints at AM Best as Senior Manager of International Governance; Antares as Company Secretary and Company Secretarial & Legal Coordinator; Mott MacDonald as Company Secretarial Assistant and Kobre & Kim as Legal Administrative Assistant.

Onyeka is a subject matter expert in GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) /company secretarial software’s, board & committee administration, corporate governance services and advisory as well as global board operations. She is an advocate and champion for modern governance technology solutions. In 2021 Onyeka was recognised as a modern leader for digital transformation innovation.

Speaking about her biggest business success to date, Onyeka told the BBC: “I believe my biggest success in business so far has been building my great corporate career to where it is to date.”

Onyeka is also a makeup artist. She worked as a Front House Coordinator for Koia Spa, Retail Makeup Artist for MAC Cosmetics and Beauty Advisor for Benefit Cosmetics.

The series, fronted by business tycoon Lord Sugar alongside his trusted advisors Baroness Karren Brady and Tim Campbell MBE, sees the hopeful business candidates battle it out for the opportunity of a lifetime for Lord Sugar’s £250,000 investment and mentorship.

Onyeka’s successful corporate background, and money-making business plan have her hoping for Lord Sugar’s first tech business investment in the eighteen series. She says her business is going to be making 10 million within the first 5 years.

Sharing why she thinks she deserves Lord Sugar’s investment, Onyeka said: “If Lord Sugar is ready to make some serious money, then he needs me. He’s never invested in a tech business, now is the time.”
