Ronnie Wilson is an accountant by trade and an artist at heart. He is a contestant on season 25 of The Voice.

After working his day job, he records covers in his home studio and posts videos to social media. Every Sunday he sings at church, which is also where he sang his first solo at a very young age.

According to his bio on NBC, Ronnie got his love for music from his mom, who was the church choir director. Throughout his life, he has sung in various choirs and has competed in local singing competitions.

He received the Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship, a merit-based full-ride scholarship, and obtained a B.S. in business administration from the University of Tennessee.

After graduating from the University of Tennessee Knoxville, his job took him to the Midwest. While there, Ronnie says he got experience working as a background singer for a gospel recording artist.

“What sets me apart from others is that I have a true love and appreciation for music,” he told Voyage Atlanta. “I’m not doing this for money, but because I believe it’s my purpose in life. Singing brings me joy and makes me feel whole.”

And as a gay black male who is active in church, Ronnie told The Voice he “hopes to inspire others to be themselves in the best possible way.”

Despite Reba’s impressive country connections, Wilson ultimately chose Team Legend as the way forward.

“Season 25 is looking good for me. I’ve started today with a great addition to my team,” Legend concluded. “What I loved about Ronnie’s performance is he made it his own and found really great moments to vocally embellish it in ways that highlighted the strengths of his voice. I think he’s gonna do so well on the show.”
