Michael Seegobin is a contestant on Season 9 of MasterChef Junior.

11-year-old Michael is a brilliant 6th grader at New Smyrna Beach Middle School. His Instagram handle and bio also describe him as an actor, model, and chef.

According to a Facebook post, Michael’s passion for cooking has shone brightly through his homemade videos – catching the attention of Master Chef Junior’s producers.

Following a ‘rigorous’ selection process, Michael was selected to compete in season 9.

Michael is up against 11 other contestants ages 8 to 11 for the $100,000 prize in MasterChef Junior season 9. He is among the eldest of the team.

The other competitors with Michael include Alfred Eggermont, Asher Niles, Breanna Michelle Williams, Bryson McGlynn, Kristell Jean, Lilo Tsai, Miles Platt, Lydia Ledon, Jordyn Joyner, Jason Sun and Remy Powell.

In the first episode of the season, Michael prepared Shrimp Linguini with Green Pesto Sauce. Tilly loved the presentation and the color of his shrimp. Gordon said, “It’s really good.” Aarón said it reflects a Southern pasta dish and Daphne said it’s “beautifully balanced.”

The young chef’s ultimate goal is to open a restaurant with his mom.

Michael is the middle child of four children. He is the son of Marion County Fire Rescue Lieutenant Deen Seegobin. He has a passion for cooking which started in their home kitchen.
