Laura Fox is an Irish television and radio presenter. She is best known as a presenter on RTE’s radio station 2FM and host of Ireland’s Fittest Family.

Laura is a former pageant queen. She competed for Miss Galway, Miss Sunday World and Miss Ireland. She won the Miss Sunday World beauty pageant and went on to compete in the 2014 Miss Ireland competition.

When she was put forward for the Miss Ireland competition and asked what is her dream job she immediately replied: “A TV presenter.” The Galway native achieved her ambition when she began presenting on Galway Bay FM as a DJ.

Laura went on to host her show on RTE Pulse and co-present the Junk Koutoure fashion show on RTÉ2. She is currently a radio presenter on RTE’s 2FM, on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to midday.

Laura credits her beauty pageant past with helping her get started in her career. The former Miss Sunday World told RSVP: “When I was younger there wasn’t social media, so you couldn’t just DM someone.

“At the time the pageants came up I just thought, ‘this is a way to get me to Dublin from Galway-this is a way to introduce myself to new people who can help me get into the media in Ireland.

“That’s why I did Miss Galway, and then Miss Sunday World afterwards- and they were invaluable for making those connections and meeting people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise!”

Ireland’s Fittest Family has put me on a new trajectory, and even though it has been overwhelming – it has been overwhelming in a good way because people are supportive and there’s so many lovely messages – I’m hoping that they’ll do the same for Dancing with the Stars and get behind me.”

The first five celebrities announced for the next season of Dancing with the Stars include Former Miss World Rosanna Davison, former RTÉ News presenter Eileen Dunne, Wild Youth frontman David Whelan, drag queen Blu Hydrangea and social media influencer Miriam Mullins.

RTE’s Laura, Fair City’s Shane Quigley Murphy, jockey Davy Russell, presenter Katja Mia, Rory Cowan and Paralympian Jason Smyth have also since been confirmed to be competing for the glitterball trophy in 2024.
