Jackie Romeo Biography – Jackie Romeo Wiki
Jackie Romeo is a pop, soul singer-songwriter from Massapequa, New York. She is a contestant on The Voice season 25.
At the age of 10, Jackie started performing in church alongside her mother, then later in school talent competitions, and musicals, and in 2018 she was selected to be a part of Debbie Gibson’s ‘Electric Youth’ performance workshop where the award-winning songwriter has since become her mentor.
Jackie graduated from Long Island High School of the Performing Arts in the summer of 2021. She has been seen on stages all across NYC and Long Island including the legendary Apollo, where she was an Amateur Night semi-finalist in 2022. That same summer Debbie Gibson invited Jackie to be a featured performer on her ‘The Body Remembers Tour.’ There, Jackie performed a song that was written for her by Debbie and became her debut single entitled Pretty Girls. “Pretty Girls,” written by Debbie Gibson, touches upon negative thoughts of body image and comparison but, ultimately, being all right with who you are.
Since graduation, Jackie has committed to pursuing her music career and was also accepted to Berklee College of Music, but she deferred admission to audition for “The Voice.”
Jackie has been recognized for her covers a multitude of times, getting the attention of Olivia Rodrigo for her spin of the song Drivers License as well as Calum Scott with her cover of You Are the Reason. For fun she makes dance videos on Tik Tok such as her I Am Your Mother dance video which received the attention of YouTube and Meghan Trainor. To date her content has amassed over 25M views across all social platforms.
Jackie’s original music is inspired by her songwriting heroes Lewis Capaldi, Kelly Clarkson, Amy Winehouse, and Tate McRae. Her debut EP will be released later this year. When she’s not singing or writing songs she loves rollerblading, hanging out with her friends, and making social media content.
Jackie Romeo The Voice
Jackie Romeo is a contestant on the 25th season of the American singing competition, The Voice.
For her blind auditions, she performed “Flowers” by Miley Cyrus. She got a chair turn from John Legend and Dan + Shay. Shay called it “unbelievable” and a phenomenal performance. Dan said the vocal kept getting better and better. John said he liked the song performance and the way she made the song her own.
“It’s always risky when you do a song by a singer that’s got such an iconic voice,” Legend said. “But what I loved was that it felt like it was just you. There’s this openness and roundness to your voice. I’d love to hear you just do more popular songs in that inflection because I think we could do some great things together on Team Legend.”
In the end, she chose to go with Team Legend. “I thought Jackie did great,” Legend said. “I loved the vibrato in her voice, the texture. I’m excited to work with her. Dan + Shay, they’re upstarts, they’re brand-new to the show, but I’ll let them know I’m still the veteran here.”
On The Voice, she competes against, Asher HaVon, Ashley Bryant, Kamalei Kawa’a, Madison Curbelo, Tae Lewis, Corey Curtis, Josh Sanders, Mafe, Karen Waldrup, and Serenity Arce.
