Shannon Berry Nature Biography – Shannon Berry Nature Wiki
Shannon Berry Nature is a green woodworker and pole lathe turner. She is cast in the BBC 1 television show Make It at Market.
Shannon’s work mainly deals with Heritage Craft, Ancient Woodland Management Practices, and Growing and Exploring with the Seasons. She is also passionate about turning and offering for sale a host of beautiful wooden bowls using her own self-built pole lathe.
Shannon Berry has previously trained with Ruth at Sylvan Skills and also embarked on a program of further training under the BMHAT apprenticeship scheme.
Diagnosed with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Autism, and ADHD, she has realized she is part of a world where neurodivergent people are stigmatized. Shannon wants to help change that narrative; to promote acceptance and understanding towards how people like her process information and be a voice for that community through her business and as a maker in general.
In an interview with Building Sustainability Podcast with Bowl Turner & Coppicer, she said, “As a maker I want to have fun, explore, learn, and above all…create. It has taken me a long time to give myself permission to be creative and explore craft. I hope to inspire others to have a go and have fun while doing so.”
