Olayemi Adelekan is a contestant on season 18 of MasterChef UK on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Prior to joining the MasterChef 2022, Olayemi was a HR Project Manager based in Harrogate, England, United Kingdom. She is the HR Transformation Change Lead at Openreach. She previously worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland, according to her Linkedin profile.

Asked about her Food Inspiration, the MasterChef contestant told the BBC: “Traditional Nigerian cuisine is what I’m here to champion in the competition. However, my journey from Nigeria to the West Indies in 1995, then to the UK in 1997 has influenced my cooking in so many ways.”

Asked why she applied to be on MasterChef 2022, Olayemi said: “My boys are now grown up and moved out, so it’s time for new challenges in my life, and MasterChef is one of them.”
