Jan Paul Biography – Jan Paul Wiki
Jan Paul (full name Jan-Paul Sedino) is a contestant on season 18 of MasterChef UK on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. Prior to joining MasterChef, he was a fashion sales executive based in London.
On his food inspiration, the home cook told the BBC: “I have so many influences. My parents emigrated to the UK in the late 1970s from the Philippines, so I grew up on Filipino food as well as Western food at home. My late father was also a waiter at a Japanese restaurant in Mayfair, and as a family we would often go out for Japanese or Chinese meals too. More recently my older brother has moved to Italy and I have visited around two to three times a year. My cooking is a melting pot of all these influences.”
As to the reason he applied to be a contestant on MasterChef 2022, he said: “I’ve watched cooking shows for so many years and I’ve always wanted to be that guy cooking on the TV. Now is my chance!”

“After years and years of watching Chefs like Jamie Oliver, Gordon Ramsey, Delia Smith growing up and shows like Ready Steady Cook and Master Chef (UK, US, AUS), never in a million years did I think I’d every have the chance to live through my childhood dreams and present my food to the nation.
“I have been lucky enough to be raised in a Filipino household and be fed my amazing people like my Mum and Dad, my siblings and aunts, I want my time on the show to be a celebration of them and a celebration of Filipino food through my eyes!
“Just wanted to thank chefs like @foodwithmae @meltronica, @chefharoldvillarosa, @cheftianagee @cheffrancispuyat and @budgie_montoya for bringing Filipino food to the forefront and showing how good filipino food can be and lets not forgot my number @steviestevert . He has supported my passions from the very beginning and even thought of starting our joint foodie account @twohungrygaysians (smart name right!) and even pushed me to apply for MC18 last summer.
