Nina Carberry is a former Irish female National Hunt jockey. She won her first Cheltenham Festival title in 2005 and won the Irish Grand National in 2011. Carberry is the daughter of the late Tommy Carberry. Tommy was a renowned retired National Hunt jockey. In December 2021, it was announced that Carberry will take part in the fifth series of the Irish version of Dancing With the Stars in 2022. Carberry is from a famous racing family The Carberrys and hence started racing at an early age. In 2005, she captured her first Cheltenham Festival title win on Dabiroun in the Fred Winter Juvenile Novices’ Handicap Hurdle. Her win was the first time in almost two decades that a female jockey won a race at the Cheltenham Festival. In the 2005-2006 season, Carberry became Irish Qualified Rider Champion for the first time and repeated the feat the following season.
