Matthew Taylor Antique Dealer Wiki, Age, Wife, Partner, Married, Dickinson’s Real Deal

Matthew Taylor Biography – Matthew Taylor Wiki

Matthew Taylor, also known as Matt Taylor, is a British antique dealer and expert dealer on ITV’s Dickinson’s Real Deal. He is the owner of Hollywood Exports, an independent retailer selling vintage US clothing in his hometown of Clitheroe, Lytham and Hebden Bridge.

Matthew promotes sustainable fashion, and he also has a unique way of selling the items. He told Lancashire Telegraph: “The fashion industry is one of the biggest contributors to waste, which damages the environment. With Hollywood Exports we take clothes that are old stock, have been worn maybe once or twice, and sell them on to reduce the need for fast fashion.”

He added: “We also sell items at £20 a kilo, so effectively you could pick up a branded t-shirt for as little as £2.50, or a pair of original Levi’s for £20.”

Matthew and his partner Lisa Pickles also run the Clitheroe-based online business The Time Train Collective which specialises in retro toys, vinyl records, vintage clothing, old promo posters and lots of other antiquities and collectables.

The couple also operate the upmarket popular mobile refreshment food truck Langden Grill which is located in the Trough of Bowland. Matthew has a background in catering and went into the industry after leaving Ribblesdale School in Clitheroe. He noted: “When I left school that’s what I fell into. Then antiques kind of overtook that.”

British Treasure, American Gold

Clitheroe native Matt Taylor appeared with Storage Hunters’ Jesse McClure in “British Treasure, American Gold” on the Quest channel. The six-part series sees the pair travel the length and breadth of the UK in search of antiques and collectibles to send back to Los Angeles where McClure’s family has an antiques mall.

In the programme Matt helps Jesse find all manner of crazy things that he can make a profit on including unusual taxi-dermi and military items.

Hollywood Exports sells pre-loved on-trend 80s 90s street ware and Americana attire, from original Levi’s, to sports wear and outdoor clothing, to niche dresses and one-of-a kind t-shirts.

A spokesman for the show: “Jesse will put $100,000 of his family’s hard-earned cash on the line as he hits the streets in search of the biggest and boldest bargains Britain has to offer before shipping them back to the US in an effort to turn a profit in the family’s LA antique store.

“Jesse is a larger-than-life personality whose laid back demeanour, not to mention his trademark sideburns and shades, masks an encyclopaedic knowledge of even the most obscure goods’ resale value.

“Growing up in Canyon County, California, he was fascinated by the resale trade from an early age and worked for his family’s antique mall.”
