Luna Sobron is a Spanish professional golf player on the LPGA Tour and Ladies European Tour (LET). She began playing golf at the age of 2. Luna had a very decorated amateur career. As an amateur, she won the 2013 Spanish International Stroke Play and the 2014 European Ladies Amateur Championship. She was a was runner-up at 2013 The Women’s Amateur Championship and finished in a tie for 13th at the 2015 Women’s British Open where she was presented with the Smyth Salver award for low amateur.
Luna made several amateur team appearances including; being in the European team at the 2011 Junior Solheim Cup, she was part of the Spanish team at the 2011 and 2012, European Girls’ Team Championship, and in 2013, she was part of the Spanish winning team at the European Ladies’ Team Championship. In 2014 and 2016, she represented Spain at the Espirito Santo Trophy and was part of the European victorious team at the 2015 Vagliano Trophy and at the Patsy Hankins Trophy in 2016.
Luna turned professional in 2016 and played on the Ladies European Tour. In 2017, Luna recorded 5 top-25 finishes on the Ladies European Tour. According to her LPGA Tour bio, Luna earned her LPGA Tour card after finishing T5 at the 2017 LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament to earn Priority List Category 12 status for the 2018 LPGA Tour season. In 2018, she played 21 events and made eight cuts, including at the 2018 U.S. Women’s Open. She finished T3 in the 2018 Lacoste Ladies Open de France. Luna finished T3 in the 2019 Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies Open and ended the season ranked 39th on the 2019 Order of Merit.
She has won three times as a professional, all her wins coming on the LET Access Series, Luna Sobron’s LET Access Series wins include; Terre Blanche Ladies Open, the Castellum Ladies Open, and the Santander Golf Tour Lerma. Luna attended the Camilo José Cela University in Madrid where she earned her Bachelors’s degree in Business Administration. When she is not on the golf course, Luna enjoys watching movies, socializing, and traveling. She currently resides in Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
