Josh Kennard Money for Nothing

Josh Kennard Biography – Josh Kennard Wiki

Josh Kennard, born Joshua John Kennard, is a carpenter, furniture designer and artisan on the BBC’s Money for Nothing. He co-founded Forge Creative, a furniture design company based in Sussex, UK. Established in 2013, Forge Creative was set up by friends and furniture makers Josh Kennard and Oli Milne, who design and make high-quality furniture such as tables and cabinets as well as small homewares like salt and pepper mills and chopping boards.

Josh and Oli are also behind The Arboretum, a creative design studio situated in rural Sussex. The studio is focused on making handmade abstract Tree ornaments.

Josh studied furniture making at Chichester College after being noticed by one of the furniture-making tutors while pursuing a carpentry and joinery course.

“I know now that this is what I was made to do but up until I left sixth form college I wanted to go down a science route,” Josh told The Design Sheppard. “It wasn’t until I completely flunked those years at college that I had to rethink a few things.”

“Out of a kind of desperation I went to try a carpentry and joinery course at Chichester college and really got on with it, after a year of that, I must have caught the attention of one of the furniture making tutors as they encouraged me to give that course a go. I studied furniture making for three years there and very quickly fell in love with the craft. It’s strange that something that came so naturally to me and was so deeply rooted in me had never seemed like a viable option before that.”
