Joel Poole is an artist and signwriter based in Sandbach, Cheshire. Since Joel started making art in 2019, his work has sold to collectors all over the world, including China, the USA, Australia and Europe. His work has appeared in several exhibitions including the opening “Together” show and a joint show “Colourways” with Nerone at Oakland Gallery in New Brighton. He has also featured in several television programmes including Channel 4’s The Big Breakfast, and the BBC’s Money for Nothing and Maker to Market.

Joel’s work primarily involves “taking old, unloved pieces of furniture, paintings or whatever else piques my interest, then transforming it using bright colours and typography into bold, one off statement pieces of art.” His work is heavily influenced by traditional signwriting, street art and graphic design.

Joel is the owner of Populuxe Home Boutique, an online vintage/retro furniture and homewares company based in Sandbach, Cheshire. In 2015 after a 15 year career in the corporate world, Joel decided to follow his dream of buying and selling vintage furniture, and Populuxe was born. The company has rapidly grown from hallway to garage to a 2000sq ft studio in South Cheshire. Populuxe is now one of the largest retailers of vintage furnishings in the North West.
