Catherine is one of the sewers competing in The Great British Sewing Bee Series 9 on BBC One. The popular BBC show, presented by Sara Pascoe, will see 12 crafty contestants show off their skills to the series’ resident judges Esme Young and Patrick Grant for the coveted title of Britain’s best amateur sewer.
“This morning it was officially announced that I’m one of the bees for this year’s @britishsewingbee honestly can’t believe I was able to keep it quiet,” she wrote.
“I’ve been blown away by all your lovely messages and I’d also like to say hello to my new followers! I hope you don’t mind pole as well as sewing because they’re my two favourite hobbies that help clear my mind.”
“Today although lovely, has been a lot, more than I could have anticipated, but it feels special to have everyone there for me especially my bees.”
Catherine became the first contestant to leave The Great British Sewing Bee 2023. During the last of three challenges in episode one, the 34-year-old ran out of time and presented her garment with safety pins. An emotional Catherine looked visibly upset on screen was consoled by her fellow competitors.
Catherine said: “Even though I had failures in two of the three challenges I took part in I had so much fun during them, working alongside the other bees, helping out each other and getting the chance to take part I really enjoyed them all. Just ignore the tears. They’re because I feel I’m letting people down.”
