Vincent Norman is a Swedish professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He turned professional in 2021. He made a hole-in-one albatross on his professional debut on the European Tour at the 2021 BMW International Open in Munich.
Early Life
Growing up in Sweden, Norman played a lot of hockey before pursuing golf at the age of 15.
“I was quite late with that. I played a lot of hockey growing up and soccer for a bit,” Norman said. “[I] was into hockey until I was, like, 15 and then basically from age 13 or 14 maybe, I started playing golf for real. I hit balls on the range with my Dad since I was a little kid, like five, six or seven years old. Then going into high school, I had to make a choice between hockey and golf and I picked golf.”
Collegiate Career
Vincent started his collegiate career at Georgia Southwestern State University, before deciding to play collegiate golf for the Florida State Seminoles as a graduate transfer. He transferred to Florida State University for a fifth-year senior season (2020-21) and rose to as high as No. 4 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
During his time at GSW, Norrman had an outstanding career. As a senior, he topped off a brilliant GSW career by winning five of his seven tournaments and led the Hurricanes to a 38-0 record against NCAA Division II Top 100 schools in 2019-20.
Norrman was also selected to represent the International Team at the 2020 Arnold Palmer Cup held at the Bay Hill Club from December 21-23, 2020. The tournament was pushed back from July to December due to COVID-19. Norrman was the first ever golfer from the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) to be selected to the Arnold Palmer Cup.
Norrman was also named as a finalist for the 2020 Jack Nicklaus National Player of the Year Award and was a five-time PBC Golfer of the Week during the 2019-2020 season and was named the PBC Golfer of the Week a total of 10 times during his time playing for the Hurricanes. While at GSW, Norrman helped guide the Hurricanes to their first Number One ranking in October of 2019. GSW was able to maintain that spot throughout the year.
Since September of 2019, Norrman won six WAGR qualifying events and was ranked as the nation’s top ranked NCAA Division II golfer while at GSW. During his four-year stint as a Hurricane, Norman earned seven tournament wins.
Amateur
Norman was part of the Swedish team that won the 2019 European Amateur Team Championship. Norrman was selected to represent Sweden at the 2019 Spirit International Amateur Golf Championship played in November.
PGA Tour
In August 2022, Norman earned his PGA Tour card for the 2022-23 season following his success on the Korn Ferry Tour.
