Tinuke Oyediran Biography – Tinuke Oyediran Wiki

Tinuke Oyediran is a British-Nigerian professional roller skater, adventure TV presenter and contestant on Survivor UK 2023. She is a triple Guinness World Records title holder.

On 17 March 2021, Tinuke achieved the Guinness World Record title for most burpees on roller skates in one minute with 33. On 18 November 2020, Tinuke broke the record for most cartwheels on roller skates in one minute with 30 and the most spins on e-skates in one minute with 70 in celebration of Guinness World Records Day 2020.

Tinuke started off her roller skating career in a show called Starlight Express which she did in Germany for two years. She describes the show as “the most 80’s, glam rock musical on roller skates you have ever seen! It is fab” and this is where she was taught to roller skate – whilst covered in glitter, of course!

Afterwards, she returned to London and joined a group called Marawa’s Majorettes (also Guinness World Records title holders). At Marawa’s Majorettes, she started to hula hoop whilst roller skating at the same time. Since then Tinuke has skated all over the world and teaches classes on roller skating and hula hooping.

Tinuke Oyediran is one of the 18 contestants taking part in Survivor UK 2023 on BBC, hosted by Joel Dommett. She wanted to be a contestant on Survivor since she “always loved the show alongside all other survival shows since I was a kid”.

She added: “I was so excited when I saw it was coming to the UK. I want to go on the show for my late parents and to prove to myself that I am so much stronger than I thought I was. This is a complete game-changer for me, I am ready to change my life and fill it with adventure and challenge and this is the first stepping stone to get me there. I am ready to leave behind the troubles and grief of my past and prove that anyone can turn around any dark experience. You always have more in the tank than you think you do, and I am ready to show that! I want to be a massive inspiration for anyone who has also experienced deep loss and sadness.”

Preparing for the show can be both physically and mentally stressful. Tinuke “watched every season of Survivor and I read FBI interrogation persuasion techniques and body language books to give me the upper-hand. I also lived in the woods for four days learning all the basic bushcraft and survival skills which was WILD. From my real life I already had a lot of general resilience and life skills to get me through the show.”

Speaking about her experience on the show, she told the BBC: “I totally aced it! I crushed those crazy physical and mental challenges like a boss, and it turns out, my limitations were all just in my head. My self-imposed bar was already sky-high, but now it’s off the charts! No more limits, baby! I’m all set to take on any challenge that comes my way, with a whole new level of swagger and resilience. Hard work pays off man. I am so so proud of myself.”
