Terence Wilson, better known by his stage name Astro, was a British musician, rapper, and toaster, who was part of UB40 from 1979 until he left the group in November 2013. Astro joined UB40 in 1979 but left in 2013 and went on to perform with breakaway group UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro. Wilson and Campbell had been performing together and were due to go on tour in 2022 for their last album, Unprecedented.

Since Campbell and Astro reunited in 2013, they have embarked on multiple UK arena tours, while their world tours have included visits to North and South America, Nigeria, South Africa, Dubai and Australia, as well as the vineyards of New Zealand for a Red Red Winery Tour. The four time Grammy-nominated band also enjoyed success around the world, including in the US, where “Red Red Wine” went to number one, as well as a cover of the Elvis Presley classic “(I Can’t Help) Falling In Love With You”, which spent seven weeks at number one in 1993.

Astro also appeared as a backup vocalist on all 18 UB40 studio albums from their 1980 debut Signing Off to Getting Over the Storm in 2013. Astro and Campbell both returned as separately credited special guests for 2018’s A Real Labour of Love, the fifth in a series of Labour of Love LPs.
