Tazeen Ahmad was a reporter for both American television news and British TV. She was a foreign correspondent for NBC News and an investigative reporter for Channel 4’s current affairs show Dispatches. She died at the age of 48 on November 6, 2019. She also writes for newspapers and has written her own book.
On her LinkedIn page, she described herself as a “Broadcaster, Writer, Emotional Intelligence Consultant.” According to that page, she says that she worked for the BBC as a reporter, presenter, and senior producer. From there, she went ahead to work as a London-based foreign correspondent with NBC News for three years. Since August 2006, she worked as a presenter and reporter on one of England’s top investigative programs known as Dispatches.
She is an experienced broadcaster, journalist and writer who has presented and reported for programs right across radio and television. She has been a reporter in news and current affairs in television and radio for over 17 years which includes working for NBC, Channel 4 and BBC 5 Live and on Radio 4 as well as the World Service. She has also reported for BBC on BBC One’s Election night and on other radio and TV documentaries. She was also a presenter of 60 Seconds and The 7 O’Clock News on BBC Three. She also made a number of documentaries for Channel 4’s Dispatches program which include investigations into sex gangs in the UK, exposes on the world of fashion, credit cards and the cosmetics industry as well as British schools, among others. She has also reported for the BBC’s Inside Out.
She was also the founder of EQ Matters, an emotional intelligence consultancy business that “has helped hundreds of senior leaders, teams and executives succeed in pressurized, driven and creative environments,” according to the company’s website. She founded the company in January 2016.

Nida Hassan wrote in her post that in addition to all of her aunt’s professional achievements, that Ahmad was “a doting mother to two of most intelligent, kind, young boys I know, and a pair of cats.”
Hassan wrote that “It is very difficult for me to say “was”, instead of “is” here– a reflection of how difficult it is to accept that she is no longer here with us.” Hassan’s post concludes with the words, “May we all know women like her, and have the opportunity to learn from them– and love them.”
