Shazia Mirza is an award-winning British stand-up comedian, actress, podcaster, and writer. She is a cast member of the new series of Celebrity MasterChef 2023 season 18 alongside British children’s television presenter Dave Benson Phillips.
Mirza was born in Birmingham, England. She went on to study Biochemistry at the University of Manchester and then achieved a Postgraduate Certificate in Education at Goldsmiths, University of London.
Prior to the start of her career in comedy, Mirza was a science teacher at Langdon Park School, where she taught Dylan Mills, now known as the grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal.
She later went to Rose Bruford College, where she studied acting part-time while working as a supply teacher, taking the final year of the course full-time.

In 2022, she performed Coconut, which was nominated for best standup tour at the Channel 4 National Comedy Awards, at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, 3-28 August.
