Remi Burgz is a BBC Radio 1Xtra radio presenter, DJ, and media personality. She took over 1Xtra’s popular drivetime show after the departure of Reece Parkinson in 2021. Burgz is cast in the 2023 series of Celebrity MasterChef season 18 together with Shazia Mirza and other contestants.
Burgz has dubbed herself “your local energy provider because of the energy she carries while hosting her shows. She started her job at the Weekend Breakfast Show before becoming the host of a weekday show.

Praising her 1Xtra drivetime predecessor, Remi added: ‘Coming through there were a lot of amazing people that gave me opportunities, and Reece Parkinson is one of them. He’s one of the reasons I was able to step into the BBC Radio 1Xtra building. People were receptive to how much I wanted it and for that, I’ll always be grateful.
‘Yes, I got a few no’s. There are a few emails I’m still waiting for a response from since 2017 but it’s OK. I don’t see no as a no, I see it as a next opportunity. It might not have gone the way I wanted it to go but I’m a strong believer in the next opportunity and creating the space that you want to see.’
