The Wichita native earned his PGA Tour card for the 2022-23 season with his finish in the final round of the Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Competing with more than 100 other golfers vying for one of 25 PGA Tour cards up for grabs in Newburgh, Ind., Sam shot a 15-under, 72-hole total of 273 strokes to finish in a tie for 12th place.

He went on to enjoy a successful collegiate career at Oklahoma State.

In July 2017, Sam was named one of the Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars by the Golf Coaches Association of America for his work in the classroom. He was named a first-team academic all-conference selection as well. He graduated from Oklahoma State in 2018 with a degree in finance.
