Rose Short is a musician, singer, songwriter, and contestant on season 17 of The Voice. She is a native of Killeen, Texas.
She started singing when she was 5 years old in Germany, where her father was stationed with the military and grew up performing at community events on the base. She wrote her first song titled “Angel,” at age 6 while she was living in Germany. Her family eventually moved to Killeen, Texas in 1996, where she became involved in choir and theater.
She graduated from Harker Heights High School in 2002, and went on to Central Texas College. After school, she worked as a corrections officer at the Alfred D. Hughes maximum-security prison in Gatesville for eight years. She quit to focus on music again. She is currently a full-time musician writing and performing her own music. She has been performing at Chief’s Sports Grill in Killeen.
