Jesus Camargo Corrales (full name Jesus Ernesto (Corrales) Camargo) is a minor-league player. He was signed by the Mexico City Diablos Rojos on Aug. 10, 2014. He joined the Chicago Cubs as a minor league free agent out of Sinaloa, Mexico on Dec. 18, 2014.

He began playing during the 2014 season and last took the field during the 2019 campaign. He pitched for Class A-Advanced Myrtle Beach in 2019. He compiled a career record of 13 wins and 7 losses and a 2.98 ERA in his 73-game pitching career with the Mexico City Diablos Rojos, Cubs, Eugene Emeralds, South Bend Cubs and Myrtle Beach Pelicans.

Jesus Camargo Arrest

Jesus Camargo was arrested on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 in Eagle, Colorado after deputies assigned to the Gore Range Narcotics Interdiction Team found 21 pounds of meth and oxycodone pills in his duffel bag. The deputies observed a silver BMW with an Arizona license plate that was speeding and drifting in and out of the lane of travel.

The occupants of the vehicle who gave their consent to have the vehicle and its contents searched. Upon searching the vehicle, an Eagle County Sheriff’s Office specialized K-9 unit found a Cubs duffel bag holding baseball gloves, cleats, a bag doused in suspected essential oils holding $1,000 in cash, 21 pounds of suspected meth and 1.2 pounds of suspected oxycodone pills.

Jesus Camargo-Corrales was driving with two other passengers, who were released after interviews determined they had no knowledge of the drugs in the car. Camargo faces four felony drug charges: distribution of schedule 2 meth (class 1), distribution of schedule 2 oxycodone (class 1), possession of schedule 2 meth (class 4) and possession of schedule 2 drugs (class 4). He was held in Eagle County Jail on $75,000 bond.

Cubs SVP of communications Julian Green told the Sun-Times in a statement: “We are aware of the arrest of one of our Minor League players. We are investigating this matter and cannot provide additional comment until we have further details.”
