Ollie Clueit Biography – Ollie Clueit Wiki
Ollie Clueit is an English professional upholsterer, designer and expert restorer on BBC’s Money for Nothing and Channel 4’s Mend it for Money. He is the co-founder of Clueit Webb Interiors, a bespoke Interiors company based in Margate, Kent.
In a previous life, Ollie spent fifteen years in the music industry, playing in bands, as a radio plugger, an A&R man and manager.
“I started off in a band myself and then worked in Radio PR, whilst also DJing and running my own club nights, before eventually ending up managing a couple of very successful artists,” he said in an interview with William Whiteley. “It was a crazy ride but, after 15 years, I decided it was time for a change.”
Ollie always had an interest in vintage and antiques from a childhood spent being dragged around car boots and antique fairs every weekend by his parents. After turning his back on the music industry, he also decided to leave London and move to sunny Margate.
“Margate is full of vintage and antique shops and I realised I needed to do something a bit different, not just buying and selling but restoring in some way to add value to pieces and that’s how I stumbled upon Upholstery.”
He trained at the Upholstery Skills Centre, where he graduated with a distinction certified by The Association of Master Upholsterers & Soft Furnishers, the UK’s only accredited upholstery course covering all aspects of both traditional and modern upholstery techniques.
In 2020, Ollie starred as one of the expert restorers on the hit Channel 4 show ‘Mend It for Money’. He is a regular restorer on BBC’s Money For Nothing.
In 2021, Clueit and Corinne Webb established Clueit Webb Interiors, a bespoke Interiors company specialising in Interior Design, upholstery, vintage furniture and textiles, working with both residential and commercial clients.
