Johannes Radebe is a South African dancer and choreographer. He has been the Amateur Latin South African champion three times and has won the Professional South African Latin championships twice. Born and talent nurtured in Zamdela Sasolburg, Radebe started dancing at the tender age of 7.
Radebe was a professional dancer on South Africa’s version of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 on SABC 3, and Dancing with the Stars in 2018 on M-Net. He is a member of the Afro Arimba Dance Company. In 2018, the BBC announced that Radebe would be appearing in the cast of professional dancers on the British Strictly Come Dancing, although he was not assigned a partner in his first season. Radebe is gay and has spoken out about homophobic discrimination he received as a child. Speaking of the situation he says that kids called him names and beat him for no reason, he says no child should go through what he went through due to his gay sexuality. According to his website, he is a Teacher of Ballroom and Latin dance at various community projects.
