Nicky Cash Biography – Nicky Cash Wiki
Nicky Cash, born Lisa Nicole Cash, is a British professional furniture designer and upcycler. She is the founder of Done Up North, a Furniture Refinishing and Design company based just outside of Leeds. Established in 2017, the upcycling business specialises in creating distinctive furniture with geometric surface patterns inspired by mid-century design.
Done Up North also provides a unique upcycled interiors consultancy for private clients and businesses, reviewing their current schemes and providing design ideas for re-purposing of existing décor elements.
Nicky is an award-winning designer of Vintage Modern Furniture who specialises in hand created geometric and optical effect surface design. Her ethos is to create ‘Antiques of the Future’ and so she intentionally balances celebrating the original design whilst elevating it with striking new design work, quality finishes and new fittings to create a unique style statement.
Nicky has demonstrated her techniques at Grand Designs Live London and Birmingham, as well as exhibited at Clerkenwell Design Week and Design London as part of London’s Design Festival 2022 under the auspices of The House of Upcycling. She has been featured in interiors magazines like Reclaim and Real Homes.
And as well as designing and upcycling, Nicky has also dedicated a significant portion of her time to supporting the next generation of furniture refinishing artists via the Done Up North studio workshops and online Design School.
She is an associate member of the House of Upcycling, the UK’s leading authority on professional upcycling.
Nicky studied Art and Fashion and Fabrics at A Level to take a Fashion degree. Later, she studied Interior Design at night school.
