Megan Knight is a Canadian politician and Mayor-elect of White Rock. Knight, who previously served on the White Rock City Council from 2014 to 2018, is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medallion for her community service.

Knight, a resident of White Rock since 1979, graduated from Semiahmoo High School. She graduated from UBC and was commissioned as a British Columbia Notary Public. She has practiced in the South Surrey/White Rock area since 1998.

Knight sits on the Board of Directors for the Society of Notaries Public of BC and chairs their Audit committee. She also sits on the Discipline committee, Practice Standards committee, Membership & Admissions, and is involved in the mentorship program for new Notaries.

Knight was a City Councillor in the City of White Rock from 2014 to 2018. As a city councillor, she served as the Chair of the Finance & Audit committee, and sat on the committees of Environmental Advisory, Governance & Legislation, Land Use and Planning, Peace Arch Hospital Foundation (alt), Fraser Health, Sources BC, Seniors Advisory, Metro Vancouver (alt), Vice Chair of Memorial Park, All Ages/Abilities Generations Park, External Communications, Chair of Grants in Aid, Outstanding Canadians on the Peninsula, Parcel Tax Roll.

She serves on the Sources Foundation Board and the Society of Notaries Public of BC Board. She has also served on the Fraser Valley Regional Library Board and the Tour de White Rock Board.

Knight has a long record of public service and small business ownership. She has participated in Sea Festival events, Sandcastle Competition, White Rock Youth Ambassadors judge, Torchlight Parade, Great Pumpkin Walk, Coldest Night of the Year (Co-Chair), Picnic on the Pier, Canada Day at the Bay, Tour de White Rock, and Christmas on the Peninsula.

Knight was part of the Opening Ceremonies for beloved community events such as the Farmers Market, the Spray Park in Memorial Park, Picnic on the Pier and Generations Park. She has been a member of the Chamber of Commerce for many years.

Megan Knight was elected mayor of White Rock on Oct 15, 2022. She defeated incumbent Mayor Darryl Walker. Knightgarnered 2,001 votes (37.67%) to Walker’s 1,811 votes (34.09%). Erika Johanson and Scott Kristjanson, both former White Rock councillors, placed third with 833 votes (15.68%) and fourth, with 667 votes (12. 56%) respectively.
