Is a journalist, presenter, and host. Together with Monique Wright, Doran co-hosts the Weekend Sunrise, a breakfast television program on the Seven Network. Doran has also in the past served as a reporter for the Seven Network’s flagship public affairs program, Sunday Night as well as a reporter and presenter at Network Ten. Recently in November 2021, he received a two weeks suspension from the Seven Network after failing to adequately prepare for an interview with British singer Adele.

The Melbourne native started his journalism career with the News Ltd’s Leader newspaper group where he served as a reporter and senior editor. In 2006 he started working for Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper where he served as a police reporter. While with the Melbourne’s Herald Sun newspaper, he covered fires, floods, CBD shootings as well as the gangland war. He later joined Network Ten as a general news reporter and later worked as a police reporter.

Doran presented the Ten News at Five: Weekend alongside Natarsha Belling in 2011. A year later, Doran left the show after the show changed into a single-presenter show leaving Natarsha Belling as the presenter. He went on to work for the Ten News as a fill-in presenter and a senior reporter. In November 2013, he started presenting the Ten Eyewitness News Early and Ten Eyewitness News Morning. A few months later, he was replaced by Hermione Kitson on Ten Eyewitness News Early. However, Doran continued as the Ten Eyewitness News Morning presenter until it was canceled in May 2014. After the bulletin was canceled, Doran returned to reporting. Doran resigned from Network Ten in May 2015 after working with the network for almost a decade.

After Doran’s resignation from Network Ten, he moved to the United States where he went on to host the Crime Watch Daily, which premiered on September 14, 2015. Doran was the show’s original host. Doran later returned to Australia and hosted the 3rd season of Crimes that Shook Australia on Foxtel’s crime and investigation channel. In March 2017, he joined the Seven Network as a reporter on Sunday Night.

On October 12, he replaced Basil Zempilas as co-host of Weekend Sunrise. In January 2021, he became the permanent Friday co-presenter of Sunrise alongside Natalie Barr. Doran attended Melbourne University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Media and Communications in 2003. He earned his Victorian Certificate of Education from St Kevin’s College in Toorak, Victoria.
