Lauren Tedstone is a contestant on The Great British Sewing Bee 2023 and a sales assistant at a local home furnishings company in the Midlands.

According to the BBC, Lauren trained to be a barrister, but after getting married and starting a family, she decided to take a job working part-time as a sales assistant at a local home furnishings company in the Midlands, so she could devote more time to her children.

Lauren started to sew when she decided to make a quilted memory blanket, using her children’s baby clothes. She then moved onto children’s wear, and taught herself to sew through online tutorials.

She also sews for herself, choosing classic styles in a neutral colour palette. One of her favourite fabrics is linen.

Lauren enjoys baking with her mum and aunt, and they are often asked to bake occasion cakes for friends and family.

In 2022, Lauren took the lead in organising a family coach trip to Bournemouth for 35 members across four generations.
