Kevin Reddington Biography – Kevin Reddington Wiki

Kevin J. Reddington is a criminal defense attorney in Brockton, Massachusetts. He is the founder and owner of Kevin Reddington Law, specializing in criminal defense in all courts, State and Federal. He had almost 100 homicide trials to his name by 2011, according to The Herald News.

Reddington was selected to Super Lawyers for 2004 – 2022. This peer designation is awarded only to a select number of accomplished attorneys in each state. The Super Lawyers selection process takes into account peer recognition, professional achievement in legal practice, and other cogent factors.

Prior to becoming an attorney, Reddington studied at Suffolk University Law School. He graduated in 1975. After passing the bar exam, he was admitted to legal practice in 1975.

He is a member of the College of Trial Attorneys, Massachusetts Bar Association, Federal court, Supreme Court of the United States bar and First circuit court of appeals.

In 2002, Boston magazine named “the affable Reddington” the best criminal defense attorney in the state.

Kevin Reddington Age

Kevin J. Reddington (Kevin Joseph Reddington) was born on February 9, 1951, in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. He is in his early 70s. At one time, he thought he would conclude his career as a Superior Court judge, but that now seems unlikely, given his age and the mandatory retirement age of 70 for judges.

Kevin Reddington Cases

According to an article from The Enterprise of Brockton, defense attorney Kevin J. Reddington has represented several high-profile clients, including Boston Red Sox slugger Mo Vaughn, who was acquitted of drunken driving in 1998; Michael McDermott, who was found guilty of gunning down seven co-workers at a software company in Wakefield in 2000; and Catherine Greig, the girlfriend of James “Whitey” Bulger, who was charged with harboring a fugitive (she later accepted a plea agreement and was sentenced to eight years in prison).

According to The Enterprise, Reddington unexpectedly flung throwing stars used in martial arts, across the courtroom during a 1989 trial to demonstrate to jurors just how dangerous they were. It was part of his defense of Therese Rogers, the 33-year-old Bridgewater woman accused of murdering her boyfriend, Walter E. Quinn Jr., by plunging knives into his eyes while he slept.

Reddington won that case by convincing jurors that Rogers – and her 9-year-old daughter – had been abused by Quinn for years, leading to a form of temporary insanity known as battered woman’s syndrome.

It was believed to be the first successful use of the defense in Massachusetts, and the victory helped win Reddington induction into the American College of Trial Lawyers, an honor reserved for only one quarter of 1 percent of the trial lawyers in the United States, Canada and Great Britain.

In 2008, Reddington defended a former Bulger associate, Frank Salemme, on a charge that he lied to authorities investigating ties between the FBI and gangsters in Boston. Salemme wrote Reddington a thank-you note, now framed on the wall of Reddington’s office on Belmont Street in Brockton.

In 2019, Reddington represented former Fall River mayor Jasiel Correia II on corruption and fraud charges. He also represented former mayor Will Flanagan in the infamous “gun incident.” Back when Correia was a freshman City Councilor, he claimed that Flanagan — who at the time was embroiled in a massive recall effort to remove him from office — tried to intimidate him by asking him into his car and showing him a gun. At the time, Reddington waved the results of a polygraph test he said proved Flanagan did not intimidate Correia.

Lindsay Clancy Attorney Kevin Reddington

Attorney Kevin Reddington is representing Lindsay Clancy, the Massachusetts mother accused of strangling her three children to death before she tried to kill herself by jumping out of a second-story window in her family’s Boston-area home.

Reddington told The Boston Globe his client was overmedicated on prescription drugs that sparked homicidal and suicidal thoughts on the evening she allegedly strangled her three children and attempted to kill herself.

In an interview that also touched on Clancy’s current medical condition and upcoming arraignment, Kevin J. Reddington told the Globe that the medications prescribed to Clancy were “turning her into a zombie.”

“The medications that were prescribed were over the top, absolutely over the top,” he said, suggesting postpartum depression as another possible factor.
