Jeanet Ingwersen Biography – Jeanet Ingwersen Wiki
Jeanet Ingwersen is a potter based in County Durham. She appears in the first series of Make It at Market on BBC 1.
She was born in Denmark and grew up in Norway from the age of seven. According to her website, she moved to the UK in 1995 to go to university and settled there ever since.
Her journey in ceramics began as a child, messing around with clay. A few years ago she did a local wheel throwing course and things got serious. She loved making pots on the wheel and was immediately addicted. Since then, she has been making ceramics as a hobby and has recently (2022) started up as a small business.
Jeanet’s pots are inspired by her background in Denmark and Norway. She wrote on her website: “I like to think that my work has the clean, simple, practical, and yet elegant style typically seen in Scandinavian design. Each pot is unique in its own way and I always have the Scandi hygge in mind when I’m at the wheel.”
‘It has been a very exciting 2022 and 2023 is set to be even more so. As well as making the decision to make a hobby into a business, I was featured as one of the makers on Dom Chinea’s new BBC series Make It At Market. My mentor was none other than Florian Gadsby and it has been the most amazing experience. I am in episode 13 should you wish to check it out on iPlayer.”

I have never really had anything that I could call a collection before so this is big to me. Being part of @bbc ‘s new show Make It At Market (@makeitatmarket) has been so amazing and has played a major role in my development as a potter. @dominicchinea, with his positive vibes, was a calming influence whilst filming and gave some excellent advice. I was mentored by the unbelievably talented @floriangadsby which was just unbelievable. I am so grateful for his guidance and recommendations; without it, I would not have had the same determination to develop my skills further and build a pottery business. To top it all off, I was given the opportunity to have a masterclass with @jonosmart! His work is just exquisite and I cannot wait to absorb some of his wisdom.”
I hope you enjoy the new collection as much as I have enjoyed the development of it.
