Jake Knapp Biography – Jake Knapp Wiki
Jake Knapp is an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour. He turned professional in 2016. He finished No. 13 on the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Points List to earn his first PGA TOUR card.
Knapp finished T-3 at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open, his best finish on Tour. He seeking his first PGA Tour title at the 2024 Mexico Open at Vidanta.
Knapp won twice on PGA TOUR Canada in 2019 in addition to a runner-up and a third-place showing, earning Korn Ferry Tour membership in the process. The 2020-21 combined season wasn’t his best, missing 20 cuts in 36 in 36 career starts on the Korn Ferry Tour. He returned to PGA TOUR Canada for 2022 and won again, one of four top-10 finishes in just 10 tournaments.
Knapp had four guaranteed starts on the Korn Ferry Tour to begin 2023 but skipped the first event to stay with his brother and his wife, who were set to welcome their first child. Knapp wanted to be there. It all turned out OK, however, as he went T17-T24-T7 in the three events following. That improved his position at the first reshuffle, meaning strong status for the balance of the year.
Knapp earned his first TOUR card via the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour season-long standings. He finished No. 13 on the 2023 Korn Ferry Tour Points List, earning his first PGA TOUR card (top 30 from Points List) in what was his second season on the Korn Ferry Tour. He logged 10 top-10s — tied for the most on Tour in 2023 — and logged 20 made cuts in 22 starts.
The performance solidified his place in the top 15 of the Points List with three top-10s in his final five starts, including a solo-fifth at the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Championship and T10 at the season-ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship presented by United Leasing & Finance.

“After losing status and missing at Q-School in 2021, out of funds, I needed to be away from golf. I needed some responsibility and some perspective on things,” he said. “I wasn’t aware that (The Country Club, a restaurant in Costa Mesa) turned into a nightclub; I went there to be a barback. They needed a security guy, and I was like, “I don’t know if I’m big enough, but I can stand there and look tough.” I was there for eight months or so; it was crazier than I thought …”
