Andrew Sheridan is Executive Chef and Owner of Restaurant 8 in Liverpool. He rose to fame for his appearance on BBC Two’s Great British Menu in 2018 and 2024. He was North West Chef of the Year in 2011 and a semi-finalist in BBC Young Chef of the Year in 2005.
Liverpool-born chef Andrew owns Restaurant 8, which has been rated as one of the top 10 worldwide dining experiences by The Times Magazine, giving customers a unique and immersive countertop dining experience. It gained 3 AA-Rosettes and a place in the Michelin Guide in 2022. It also won Best Restaurant in the UK and Best Restaurant in Liverpool at the British Restaurant Awards.
Having learnt his skills working at Michael Caines’ Abode Hotel restaurant in Chester, he first started working in their bistro, before quickly being promoted to work in their fine dining restaurant. He later became head chef of Sosban in Wales, where he got the opportunity to appear on the Great British Menu for the first time.
Andrew then moved to The Stargazy Inn in Cornwall. In 2019, he joined the Open Restaurant Group and launched 8 in Birmingham. The restaurant later relocated to Liverpool.
Andrew also owns Black & Green, a modern British neighbourhood restaurant in Worcestershire’s Barnt Green He launched the restaurant in May 2022. It was followed by traditional pub The Wye Inn, in Newent, Gloucestershire, in February 2023 and Restaurant OXA, a Michelin Guide neighbourhood restaurant in Oxton, in May 2023.
