In Gee Chun is a South Korean professional golfer. She started playing golf at the age of 9. Chun turned pro in 2012 and played minor league tours her first year. She made her professional golf debut on the LPGA Tour of Korea (KLPGA ) in 2013. The golfer recorded her first KLPGA win during her rookie year at the 2013 Korea Women’s Open and finished third on the money list that season. Chun has two career wins on the LPGA of Japan (JLPGA), both major championships, nine wins on the LPGA of Korea (KLPGA) and four wins on the LPGA Tour, 3 majors.

Chun won her first LPGA Tour event as a non-member at the 2015 U.S. Women’s Open in her first career start at the championship. She won her second career major championship at the 2016 Evian Championship and set a new major championship record – male or female – for 72-hole score in relation to par (-21). The golfer won her third LPGA Tour title at the LPGA KEB Hana Bank Championship in her home country of Korea. She won her fourth LPGA Tour title at the 2022 Women’s PGA Championship.

In 2015, Chun became the first player in history to win majors on three different tours in the same calendar year. On the KLPGA Tour, she won two majors, the Hite Jinro Championship and the KB Financial Star Championship, on the JLPGA, she also won two majors, the World Ladies Championship Salonpas Cup and the Japan Women’s Open Golf Championship, and on the LPGA Tour, she won one major, the U.S. Women’s Open.

The following year, at the Evian Resort Golf Club in Évian-Les-Bains, France, she won the 2016 Evian Championship with a score of 21 under par, which is the lowest winning score in a major tournament for either men or women. By winning the 2016 Evian Championship, she joined compatriot Se Ri Pak as the only two players in LPGA Tour history to win majors as their first two LPGA Tour titles. She also represented the Republic of Korea at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

After Chun’s win at the 2015 U.S. women’s open at Lancaster Country Club, she now upholds the “In Gee Chun Lancaster Country Club Educational Foundation” and makes generous contributions each year to give back to the community by providing scholarships for students seeking to achieve their education and vocational goals. Chun also donates $100,000 annually to Korea University through “In Gee Chun’s Student Social Responsibility Activities Program”
