Fauve Birch is a contestant on The Great British Sewing Bee 2023 and a trainee solicitor. She is also a top golfer with a handicap of +2 and plays a couple of times a week, having represented Wales in the Home Nationals.
The sewing bug bit five years ago when Fauve went along to a sewing class and made a peg bag. From that moment she was hooked. Now she sews in the evenings from her “sewing cupboard,” where she creates her handmade wardrobe of puff-sleeved feminine dresses.
The family’s three pedigree Kerry Blue dogs keep her company while she sews, usually lying down on the fabric she’s neatly laid out.
She enjoys activities with her all-female gang the “The Magnificent 7” which includes her mum. She enjoys cold water swimming and paddleboarding, and has just bought a kayak.
Education and Career
Fauve graduated with a Law Degree in 2017 and completed the Legal Practice Certificate (LPC) at Swansea University in 2019. She joined Redkite Solicitors in October 2019 originally as a Land Registry Clerk in Swansea Residential Team. However, she quickly progressed into the Family Department where she assists on public law matters which involves working with Local Authorities and Social Services. In September 2021, she earned a Training Contract with Redkite.
