Corey Conners is a Canadian professional golfer and a two-time winner on the PGA Tour. He has also played on PGA Tour Canada, PGA Tour Latinoamérica, and the Web.com Tour.
Conners, the 2014 U.S. Amateur runner-up, turned professional in 2015. He secured his first PGA TOUR win at the 2019 Valero Texas Open. He made three birdies in the final five holes, shooting a 6-under 66. Conners was 20-under for the tournament, winning by two shots over Charley Hoffman.
Hoffman, the 2016 Texas Open winner, shot 67 for 18-under on the week. Ryan Moore closed with an 8-under 64, a shot off the course record, and was third at 17-under. On April 2, 2023, Conners won the Valero Texas Open for the second time to become the 10th multiple-time winner of the sixth-oldest tournament on TOUR. He closed with 15 under par, a shot ahead of PGA Tour rookie Sam Stevens and two better than Sam Ryder and Matt Kuchar.
College
Conners studied Actuarial Mathematics in college at Kent State University and was a two-time Academic All-American. He was honored as 2013-14 Co-MAC Player of the Year along with Kent State teammate Taylor Pendrith and as a First-Team All-MAC selection. He was selected to the MAC Championships All-Tournament team and named to Hogan Award Watch List for 2014. Conners was the 2014 champion at the prestigious Jones Cup, beating Austin Connelly of Irving, Tex. in a one-hole playoff at Ocean Forest Golf Club in Sea Island, Ga.
He was honored with the 2014 Merle Wagoner Award as Kent State’s outstanding male athlete. The award is presented to the male member of the senior class who has demonstrated the most exceptional combined qualities of leadership, positive image, athletic ability and academic performance.
