Chris Hodges Bio
Pastor Chris Hodges is the founding and senior pastor of the Church of the Highlands. He was born June 21, 1964 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States.
Chris Hodges entered the ministry in 1984 as a youth pastor at Bethany World Prayer Center outside Baton Rouge, Louisiana. In 1987, he moved to Colorado Springs. Here Chris served as youth pastor and senior associate pastor for the New Life Church. In 1994 he returned to the Bethany World Prayer Center as an associate pastor. While there he hosted a daily televison program called “Lifeline”. Hodges moved to Birmingham in 2000 with the vision of founding a new church.
Church of the Highlands began on February 4, 2001 in Birmingham, Alabama. The first service was held at the Fine Arts Center of Mountain Brook High School in Birmingham, Alabama with more than 350 people in attendance. In the first year, the church grew to 600 people in weekly attendance, 371 people committed their lives to Christ and six other churches were planted. oday, thousands of people attend Church of the Highlands at multiple campuses all over the state of Alabama.
He co-founded ARC (Association of Related Churches) in 2001, which has launched hundreds of churches all across the USA. He also founded GROW, a one-of-a-kind experience specializing in training and resourcing pastors and churches to help them break barriers and reach their growth potential. Chris is also the founder and President of the Highlands College, a ministry training school that trains and launches students into full-time ministry careers. Chris and his wife Tammy Hornsby have five children: Sarah, Michael, David, Jonathan and Joseph.

Chris Hodges Son, Michael Hodges is no longer pastor of the Greystone branch campus of the Church of the Highlands. Pastor Chris Hodges, speaking at the ReCreate Women’s Conference at the church on Sept. 30, mentioned that his son had a moral failing and was no longer the Greystone pastor. All references to Michael Hodges were removed from the church web site and his social media accounts were deactivated. Since Sept. 25, Charles Kelly has been listed on the church web site as the pastor of the Greystone campus.
