Ayesha Rascoe is an American journalist who currently serves as a White House reporter for NPR. She covered the Obama White House for Reuters before moving to NPR in 2017. Her stories are regularly broadcast on NPR show’s Morning Edition and All Things Considered, and she appears regularly on NPR’s Politics Podcast. In her current role, she covers breaking news and policy developments from the White House. Rascoe also travels and reports on many of President Trump’s foreign trips, including his 2019 summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un in Hanoi, Vietnam, and his 2018 summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Helsinki, Finland. She began her reporting career at Reuters where she covered environmental policy, including the 2010 Deepwater Horizon oil spill and the response to the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster in 2011. She received a B.A. in journalism from Howard University in 2007 where she was editor in chief of the student newspaper The Hilltop.
