Asma Khalid Biography – Asma Khalid Wiki
Asma Khalid is a Muslim American journalist and reporter. She is a political correspondent for NPR covering the 2020 presidential campaign. She also co-hosts The NPR Politics Podcast. She has also reported on the 2014, 2016 and 2018 elections. In 2016, she focused on the intersection of demographics and politics and was awarded the Missouri Honor Medal for her coverage.
Before joining NPR’s political team, she helped launch a new initiative for Boston’s NPR station WBUR where she reported on biz/tech/and the future of work. She has reported on a range of stories over the years — including the Boston Marathon bombings and the trial of James “Whitey” Bulger.She got her start in journalism in her home state of Indiana but opted for radio through an internship at BBC Newshour in London during grad school.
Prior to joining NPR, she had worked at WBUR as a reporter and editor, she had also been a freelance reporter in Wasing D.C Metro Area, WAMU 88.5 and interned at BBC’s Newshour, intern at South Asia Bureau and also interned at Post -Tribune from May to July 2003.
