Alison Vincent Biography – Alison Vincent Wiki
Alison Vincent is a hot-blown and sculpted glass artist. In 2023 she featured in the BBC TV program “Make It At Market” shown on BBC1, BBC2, iPlayer, and BritBox in the UK and around the globe.
She also loves learning and creating warm glass – especially cast and fused which she wants to develop more. She favors substantial, sculptural art pieces, often with beautiful colors encased within clear glass with its gorgeous refractive properties.
Her work is inspired by wilderness and the nature it contains. She particularly focuses on seasides, oceans, and waves and the astounding life they contain as well as the Polar Regions, icebergs mountains, and even planets and stars. Vincent wants to portray the beauty of these inspirations but also their fragility in her work and to engage and inspire her audience with a strong motivation to care for and protect these valuable natural assets.
She hand-creates statement glass inspired by her encounters in remote, pristine wild nature using novel techniques.
Her first glassblowing experience was in 2012 according to her website. In 2019 she jumped ship from a packaging consultant to focus fully on glass.
She travels the UK hiring studios is the owner of one-to-one tuition and attends masterclasses. In January 2023 her studio – hot and cold shops – became fully operational in South Buckinghamshire, UK.
She has been privileged to have been on 3 expeditions to Antarctica including scuba diving and sailing to and from South America and 4 expeditions to the Arctic including sailing from Norway to Svalbard and swimming with orca and humpbacks.

She wrote on her Instagram: “Today’s the day!! Last year I was lucky to take part in the BBC TV program “Make It At Market” which has been transformational for me.
“Tonight I’ll be on prime-time TV as my episode (S1 E9) airs at 7:30 pm in a shorter 30-minute slot on BBC 1.
“It’s been an amazing year of glass for me and fantastic to work with the lovely @pyramdgalleryyork and @artifex as well as my mentor @allistermalcolmglass.
“I’m super excited and so grateful. I hope you love my glass.”
