Alisha Elenz is a private chef based in Chicago, Illinois, and a contestant on Season 21 of Top Chef. Originally from Palatine, Alisha is a two-time James Beard-nominated chef and the 2019 recipient of the Jean Banchet for Rising Chef of the Year. She was a finalist for the James Beard award in 2019 and a semi-finalist in 2020.

Born in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, Alisha has been working in the restaurant industry since 2011 and quickly rose up in the ranks at a young age by becoming an Executive Chef at the age of 23.

Alisha started her career as a Pantry chef at Pete’s Pizza in August 2012. She went on to work as a Line Cook at Maude’s Liquor Bar and Server at The Piggery Chicago. She also had stints at Mfk and Cherry Circle Room.

Alisha specializes in Mediterranean flavors and more specifically has a background cooking Spanish cuisine.

Nowadays, she’s running her own private chef and events company, “Whisk the Night Away,” where she creates a full restaurant experience in the comfort of your own space. She’s known for using a simple approach to creating complex flavors that you wouldn’t normally expect to see together.
