Alice Kang Wiki – Alice Kang Biography
Alice Kang is a news anchor from Wilmette, Illinois working at WPTZ-TV. She joined the NBC5 News team in August 2018 as the morning anchor for NBC5 News TODAY. During her time at NBC5, she helped launch the first 4:30 a.m. newscast in the market. She enjoys producing her weekly segment, Motivation Mondays, telling stories about people doing good deeds across our region. She grew up on the north shore of Chicago. A fun fact about her: English wasn’t her first language. She speaks Korean fluently. She loves traveling, experiencing new things, and meeting new people. You’ll likely find her with her rescue dog, Luella, on a walk or paddleboarding on Lake Champlain.
She is a Boilermaker. She graduated from Purdue University with a degree in Mass Communications and Hospitality Tourism Management. During her time in West Lafayette, she was an active member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and was involved in College Mentors for Kids. After graduation, she worked in Rock Island, Illinois as a reporter. Her most memorable moment was having the opportunity to go along with a group of veterans on an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. She then moved to Madison, Wisconsin as an Anchor/Reporter and helped launch the 9 PM newscast. She has previously worked at WHBF-TV, WFLI News 18, Lafayette Country Club, WMBB News Station 13, and Quay Grand Suites as a marketing and advertising intern. She is excited to continue exploring the Champlain Valley. She can’t wait to learn more about the community and the people that make the area unique.
