Alan Marsden is an evening anchor at Action News Now, delivering the news at 5, 6, and 11 p.m. He has been a member of the team since 2005 after he was previously working at the station from 2001 to 2003. He brings to Action News Now more than 35 years of television broadcasting experience, the first 12 years being behind the scenes.
Having worked at television stations in four western states, he has just about done it all in the business including anchor, reporter, producer, assignment-desk editor, master-control operator, and studio camera operator. His first television job was at the age of 18 at KTVX in Salt Lake City where he was that station’s last-ever projectionist.
Working as a reporter and anchor he has had the opportunity to meet and interview numerous state and national figures, from politics to business to entertainment, but he most enjoys telling the stories of ordinary folks who have extraordinary experiences to share.
He graduated from the University of Utah in 1993.
