Alan Goodwin is an embroiderer who makes animal-themed clothing. He features on the second series of the BBC program Make It at Market.

Goodwin is a freehand embroiderer who discovered his love for sewing whilst studying for a bachelor’s Degree in Decorative Arts at Nottingham Trent University. He graduated with a Masters Degree in Textile Design Innovation.

Before his university studies, he had not sewed. His first animal to embroider was a rabbit. Goodwin has been sewing pet portraits since 2016. He enjoys capturing emotions and character by stitch.

Embroiderer Alan Goodwin features on the second series of the BBC 1 show Make it at Market. The show is presented by Dom Chinea alongside a team of business and craft experts who work together to help budding entrepreneurs make a living from their hobby.He stars alongside a host of other artists and crafters in the series.

He wrote in an Instagram post: “So here is the big news… I can finally say that I’m on the second season of ‘Make it at Market’ which is airing on BBC One on the 27th of November! Hosted by the lovely Dominic Chinea. My Episode is airing Friday 1st December at 4:30 pm. Catch it on iPlayer after the broadcast too.”
