Cellan Cox is a contestant on Channel 4’s The Great Pottery Throw Down. Each week, judges Rich Miller and Keith Brymer Jones will test the contestants at some creative challenges, after which they’ll decide who will go home and who will stay in the competition.

He is a pottery technician and teacher at The Clay Studio, a “beautiful pottery teaching studio in the heart of Sussex. Providing pottery classes, events, workshops and experiences.” He is very passionate about wood, furniture, ceramics and table wear.

The Cardiff-born potter studied BA(Hons) 3D Design and Craft at the University of Brighton. During the “Brighton Summer Shows ’21: School of Art & School of Media BA show,” Cellan presented the project “Creating Spaces”. According to the Brighton exhibitions website, “Creating spaces is about forming areas, within your home, that are dedicated to a specific aspect of your daily life. This project focuses on rest, relaxation and socializing. My aim is to make a furniture collection specifically designed for this purpose. I feel that today’s society forgets to stop, unwind and reflect on what it has achieved. I want to create a space where the sole purpose is to relax and socialize with friends and family.”
