Xavier Ortiz was a Mexican actor, singer, model, producer, TV host, and former member of the musical group Garibaldi. Garibaldi was formed by Luis de Llano Macedo, a Mexican TV producer. Its original members included Ortiz, Sergio Mayer, Patricia Manterola, Paty Montenegro, Charly López, and Katya Llanos. The group’s self-titled debut album was released in 1988 and their last album, Bicentenario, came out in 2010. Their greatest hits include, “Banana,” “La Ventanita,” and “Beats Me.”

Ortiz appeared on numerous TV shows and films, as well as many high profile theatre productions. My sincere condolences to his family, friends, and the artistic community.”
