Vince Smith is a Development Chef and contestant on Series 19 of Great British Menu. He was born in London to an Indian father and a Caribbean mother. With both parents passionate about food and cooking, he grew up with a wide range of culinary influences.

Vincent knew he wanted to be a chef from a young age. He studied culinary arts at Thames Valley University (now known as the University of West London), before going off to work in some of the best kitchens in London.

Vincent works as a development chef, delivering bespoke events and fine dining across the 100-site London-based catering company. He is hungry to prove that he can produce the same quality and level of food as those with accolades and working in restaurants.

Chef Vince Smith is representing London and South East on Great British Menu 2024 alongside Joe Hill, Kate Austen and Ashok Kumar. The four chefs compete for London and South East England with canapes, starters and fish dishes inspired by the Olympics and Paralympics, all hoping to cook at a banquet to wish Team GB athletes luck as they head for Paris 2024. His menu celebrates the Olympics opening ceremony, and gold medals.

Vince announced the news on Instagram, writing: “I am thrilled to announce that I will be competing in the prestigious Great British Menu, representing London and the South East. It’s an incredible honor to showcase my culinary skills alongside some of the nation’s top chefs.”
