Victor Pedrosa is a Neuroscientist originally from Brazil, currently living in London. He is a budding entrepreneur on BBC 1’s Make it at Market.

He wrote: “I decided to join my scientific background and my love for pottery in one name: Dr Pottery! You will see some of my scientific background reflected in my pieces, but most of my pieces are actually a result of another part of me.”

The porter loves nature, the imaginary, surrealism, expressions, and emotions. His pieces, and especially his sculptural pieces, are an attempt to bring this love into the real world.

He described himself saying: “As with many people, I had my first contact with clay when I was a kid. Since the beginning, I always enjoyed playing with clay. What I didn’t know at the time was how much I would need that clay later on in my life.

“In 2012, I started to have very strong and life-changing panic attacks. After several months of therapy, trying a lot of different approaches, my therapist brought to me a piece of clay….Peace, finally.”

Victor Pedrosa is an upcoming entrepreneur on series one of BBC Make it at Market. The reality television show is hosted by The Repair Shop’s Dominic Chinea.

Pedrosa revealed he was taking part in the BBC 1 show on Instagram, writing: “10 days to BBC1! On 17 January, 4:30 pm, I’ll be appearing on the brand new BBC show Make it at Market @makeitatmarket

“Each day, I’ll be posting something I’ve been working on or that I worked on since the show!

“On this BBC show, The repair shop’s Dom Chinea @dominicchinea teams up with the best team of mentors to help aspiring artists turn their hobby into a business. I was lucky to have been mentored by Derek Wilson @derekjwilson, a renowned ceramicist who works with both functional and sculptural pieces. He helped me so much and you will hear everything about it when the episodes come up! 😊

“The show started last Monday and goes live every weekday, at 16:30. We saw a lot of makers this week, including two other potters @sarahbrabbinart (mentored by Derek) and @izzylettyceramics (mentored by @floriangadsby).
