Tyler Tessier Biography

Tyler Tessier was a Maryland man accused of murdering his pregnant girlfriend, Laura Wallen. Laura Wallen was a teacher at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia.

Tyler Tessier was arrested in September 2017 and charged with first-degree murder in the death of Laura Wallen, who was four months pregnant when she was killed.

According to WUSA9, Tessier worked as a manager for landscaping firms and most recently worked in sales for a Frederick County farm equipment company. The station also reported that he studied agriculture at a college in Pennsylvania, was a 4-H judge at fairs and grew up in Brookeville.

Tessier was involved with at least two women, according to police. After learning she was pregnant, Tessier asked for Wallen father’s blessing to propose to his daughter, Wallen’s father, Mike, told police. He became engaged to Christina Wagoner after learning that Wallen was pregnant, according to WMAL.

According to Robert Green, director of the county’s Department of Correction and Rehabilitation, Tessier started the morning at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility in Clarksburg. He had left his single cell to shower, returned, and was preparing to be taken to the Circuit courthouse in Rockville. It was then that he hanged himself. Tessier had been housed in protective custody since his arrest in September 2018.
